The first trailer from the upcoming dramedy “The Comedian” has been released; courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. The film, which stars Robert DeNiro, Leslie Mann, Edie Falco, Harvey Keitel, Danny DeVito, Patti LuPone and Veronica Ferres, is directed by Taylor Hackford and will receive a limited release on December 2nd, 2016; with a wide release on January 13th, 2017. "The Comedian", which is written by Art Linson, centers on a has-been insult comic (played by DeNiro) “who tries to pay the bills by performing in small comedy clubs in New York. After he's sentenced to community service for punching a heckler, he meets a woman (played by Mann) who is serving a similar sentence for assaulting her cheating ex-boyfriend."
